Each block of Rawganic chocolate is made using cold pressed cacao butter, which is melted at 42°C then mixed with cold pressed cacao powder and sweetened with agave nectar and mesquite powder.
Raw chocolate has the highest antioxidant value of all natural foods in the world, with an ORAC rating of 95 500 per 100 grams (compared to regular dark chocolate’s rating of 13 120). The ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) scale is used to measure the effectiveness of antioxidants to absorb free radicals that cause damage to the cells and tissue of the body.
Unlike most chocolate that contains sugar as the first ingredient, Rawganic chocolate’s first ingredient is cacao butter. Cacao butter is the natural fat found in cacao beans, and studies have shown that eating raw cacao butter will not effect the level of potentially harmful cholesterol.
Rawganic chocolate is sweetened with agave nectar, which is a low glycemic, natural sweetener from the cactus plant. The low glycemic index means that it has a lower impact on blood sugar than refined sugar.
As well as its anti-aging properties, raw chocolate is a good source of minerals including magnesium, calcium, iron, zinc and copper.
