How is Terrasan A Grade maple syrup made? Every spring the trees are tapped. The first sweet drops of maplesyrup are collected in buckets. The buckets are emptied daily: the juice is brought to the 'sugar house' to remove the water. At the beginning the syrup has the same consistency as water; when removing the water the juice is thickening into syrup. This process happens in big flat pots under which they keep a constant fire.The bringing in and thickening of the syrup seems simple but needs a lot of constant and precise attention.
